Krystyn Scrbic, MSc, CVRP(F), CCVE/ICVE

I have 18 years of vocational evaluation experience across both forensic and benefits-related contexts. In the legal realm, I have completed forensic vocational evaluations within the personal injury tort context, spanning a range of matters including motor vehicle accident, medical malpractice, animal attack, and intentional tort cases (including historical abuse and assault). I have also completed evaluations in insurer disputes involving alleged breach of contract, most commonly relating to the wrongful denial or termination of benefits. I have been engaged by both plaintiff and defence counsel, and have been accepted as an Expert Witness in the Ontario arbitration system.

I also conduct assessments concerning eligibility for income replacement benefits and the need for vocational rehabilitation services, in the context of motor vehicle accident, workplace safety, and life and health insurance claims. I have been contracted to complete various types of vocational assessments by employers, insurers, and directly by clientele.

I have completed a post-graduate certificate in Forensic Vocational Rehabilitation through the University of Florida. I serve on the Board of Directors for the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals, and I am a Peer Reviewer for credentialing with this college. I have presented at a professional conference on the subject of labour market statistics, and I have authored a professional training module for the Canadian Assessment, Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment Society (CAVEWAS), titled "Writing Defensible Forensic Vocational Evaluation Reports for Personal Injury Tort Contexts in Canada”.

I have experience working with many types of clientele on both a volunteer and professional basis, including youth and pediatric clients, individuals with developmental disabilities, individuals with brain injuries and/or cognitive deficits, physically impaired individuals, and individuals with mental health difficulties. I have concentrated my focus within the area of vocational evaluation and labour market analysis for the purposes of forensic reporting. I have provided rehabilitation services such as career counselling, job search assistance, and facilitating return-to-work programs.

I have 18 years of psychometric and vocational testing experience in the vocational rehabilitation field. I also have an additional 3 years of experience in assessing children and adults through the application and interpretation of intelligence, academic achievement, personality, and cognitive functioning tests as part of my undergraduate and graduate research and studies.
